About Conrad
Conrad received a Diploma from the Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag (Netherlands) in 1994 and a MA in Fine Arts at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 1998.
He has exhibited his work since the late 1990s and has held solo exhibitions in South Africa, Europe, the USA, Britain and Australia. Prominent group exhibitions include the Ninth Havana Biennale (Cuba, 2006), Third Guangzhou Triennial (China, 2008), the 17th Biennale of Sydney (Australia, 2010), Victims and Martyrs, Gothenburg Kunsthalle, Sweden (2011) and Impressions from South Africa, 1965 to Now, MOMA, New York (2011)
His comics have been published in various anthologies in Europe and the USA.
In 2009 ‘Rats et Chiens’, a collection of his comics was published by Editions Cornelius (Paris), followed by ‘Le Pays de Judas’ in 2023. ‘Die Foster Bende’, a graphic novel that he did with Ryk Hattingh was published as ‘La Bande à Foster’, by L’Association (Paris, 2011).
He lives and works in Cape Town.
